«Yablochny Spas» - Apple Feast of the Saviour in Uritsky Park

Orthodox holidays are a special part of the Slavic culture, which plays a big role in the history of our country.
One of them is «Yablochny Spas», which is celebrated on August 19th. The Eastern Slavs believe that starting from this day you can eat apples, and on this day the fruits of the new harvest are consecrated in the church. According to the popular belief, from this day nature begins to prepare for autumn.

On the initiative of the «Moskovsky» cultural center, the favorite Uritsky park acquires the features of an old Slavic folk festival on this day. The festival will open at 11 am with an artisans fair, where you can not only buy designer textile dolls and amulets, handmade wood and leather products, but also become the author of an art object by taking part in workshops on painting souvenirs from clay, making leather bracelet, lacework, and others.

The festival concert program will start at 12 pm. The best folklore groups from Kazan and all Tatarstan will gather in the Uritsky Park to please the spectators.
Visitors will enjoy ancient folk games and fun, round dances, recreated areas of village life and a lot of positive emotions!
