Festival of author’s songs «Shine, the Mountain!»
Audiences will enjoy a concert of original songs featuring masters of the genre. Contemporary performers of bard and original songs continue the traditions established by such outstanding musicians as Yuri Vizbor, Bulat Okudzhava, Alexander Gorodnitsky, and others.
Thanks to such concerts Kazan keeps the tradition of being a center of original songs since the Soviet era.
«Shine, the Mountain!» - is the name of the unofficial anthem of the «Grushinsky» festival, which was composed by the bard Andrei Kozlovsky and the poet Vitaly Kalashnikov.
The festival program includes performances by renowned musicians and songwriters:
• Andrei Kozlovsky - laureate and multiple jury member of the «Grushinsky» Festival.
• Romario (Roman Lugovykh) - winner of the «Golden Gramophone» Award.
• Ekaterina Boldyreva - winner of the «Grushinsky» Festival.
• Elmira Galeeva - winner of the «Grushinsky» Festival and recipient of the «For Achievements in Culture» award from the Tatarstan Ministry of Culture.
• The folk group «Medvezhiy Ugol» (rus. «Bear's Corner») – regular participant in the «Grushinsky», «Krutushka» Festivals and many others.
The concert program includes original songs and songs based on poems by classic Russian poets: Marina Tsvetaeva, Alexander Blok, and Anna Akhmatova.
