The youth theater group «OSNOVA» presents the performance «Yesenin. Hooligan». This is an attempt to understand «what it means to be a brilliant poet?»
The life of Sergei Yesenin is striking in its depth, scale, and tragedy. «Hooligan» — that's what Yesenin called himself, and that's how he is most often portrayed. The verses of this brilliant poet are woven into a tragic story about the fate of the great Russian poet. The performance is built on archival materials from the poet's life, as well as the memories of his loved ones. This is a confession where biographical facts are intertwined with memories, feelings, dreams, suffering, and, of course, the poet's brilliant works, where teenage feelings and fleeting fantasies are more vivid than real life and the people around them. A performance which reveals the birth of a new story...
