Lectures "Picturesque photographs by Arnold Brening"

On November 20, a lecture by Yana Kirillova "Picturesque photographs by Arnold Brening" was held at the Moskovsky Cultural Center.
Arnold Brening (1879-1937) is a famous Kazan pharmacist, chemist and amateur photographer. Thanks to his photographs, we can see Kazan of the 1910s-1930s. These are not only photographs of the old city, suburbs, the construction of the Romanovsky bridge across the Volga in 1913, but also portraits of his contemporaries Likhachev, Vilde, Alafuzov, the “father” of the Romanovsky bridge N. A. Belelyubsky, academician A. E. Arbuzov, relatives and household members.
At the meeting, they talked about the photographic path of Arnold Brening, the artistic aspects of his works and their connection with the course of pictorialism.
